Showcase: Lamenters scout bike.

Here are the finished pictures of my Lamenters scout biker. Loads more  after the jump...

It was a bit rushed towards the end, which you can see in the freehand on the bike handlebar guard and the headlight grill. Overall I am really pleased with the outcome.  The posing looks interesting and compact (unlike my last entry) and the colour scheme made him stand out in the display cabinet (thanks to everyone for their advice on the colour scheme).  In future I need to think more about the viewing angle because this model looks more interesting from one side but all the freehand detail is on the other.

In last minute news I finally won this month!  Bit strange as this was the model that felt a little bit unfinished to me but hey ho.  This means that I get to pick the next months model. I've gone for the WFB Nurgle Lord. (picture from GW)

I chose this for a couple of reasons: Firstly it is a very nice model and we haven't done anything with lots of skin yet.  Secondly it fits with this months Warriors of Chaos release. Thirdly we've been seeing lots of conversions using this guy in Blanchitsu so people should have some crazy conversion ideas.  What do people think? What would you do with him?

As always please feel free to leave any comments or questions below.

  1. Nice work. The 3rd pic is my fav. It's a great angle and creates a real atmosphere. Nice crisp painting. Your next mini will be a real challenge. I find it hard to do damage and gore well when you are used to such clean painting styles. Try to borrow more from the "messy" techniques you use on your bases and you should have great results.

    1. Thanks Zab, I'm very pleased with the modelling on this one. I've started some quite serious conversion work on the nurgle lord that will hopefully fit my painting style a bit better. WIP shots soon.

    1. Cheers James, the comments on the yellow mean a lot as I've never really tried to paint the colour before.

  4. Rob, you've just taken things to another level mate! As everyone has said, everything looks great here! I'd like to see a whole unit.

I love looking at the minis you paint, as you can see how far your painting has come on. I keep saying it but you were good before but great now!

Keep on at this rate and you'll be in golden daemon I reckon!

Congratulations on the win, and as for what you could do with the excellent Nurgle figure, how about a Blood Bowl Nurgle's Rotter?

  5. Thank you for the kind words Ieuan. I'm not sure I'll be golden deamon standard anytime soon but we can all dream..
I hadn't even thought of Blood Bowl, that would make a very cool model. I've just posted up the conversion I went for in the end but now I almost wished I'd waited and had a go at a BB miniature.

ps great work on your necrons, keep it up.
